About CBC St Kilda

A CBC education goes beyond the academic. We foster a sense of belonging and actively promote hope, curiosity, creativity and courage in all that we do. We have a valuable relationship with our adjacent sister school, PCW Melbourne, where some VCE classes are shared. At CBC St Kilda, we take pride in our ability to challenge and nurture students in ways that bring about their intellectual and emotional growth so they are equipped to be valued and creative contributors in an ever-changing world.

A CBC parent writes, ‘…My goal was to raise resilient, compassionate and resourceful young men. I believe they are well on their way to living a life of purpose. I am very proud of my boys and I thank each of you who have participated in their development…’.

At CBC St Kilda we cultivate boys’ character — and we think character comes about by creating the right atmosphere, learning culture and moral frameworks for them as people. New students regularly say they quickly have a feeling of belonging at CBC, and that their teachers are very caring and go out of their way to help them with their learning. We believe that without love and care young men won’t prosper. The warmth and strong sense of community does a great deal to keep students safe, engaged and connected to college life.

CBC is committed to maintaining these special qualities in all our much-respected contemporary learning programs, which includes a separate Year 9 campus. Through these unique programs, teachers explore learning in ways that include student directed approaches to encourage the use of a range of media. This not only develops the right skills, but also promotes independence and motivation. CBC’s contemporary approaches to learning include an extended use of data to provide students and teachers with valuable feedback about their performance, including strategies to enhance growth. Learning at CBC not only occurs in the classroom but everywhere. Our camps, overseas partnerships leadership, co-curricular programs and social justice events are all designed to promote risk, knowledge and resilience, whilst developing the character of each person.

Academic and General Excellence scholarships are available, and college tours take place throughout the year.
